Visakhapatnam/Bhubaneswar — Authorities in Andhra Pradesh and Odisha have evacuated more than 50,000 residents as Cyclone Montha intensifies over the Bay of Bengal. Schools and colleges have been closed, emergency teams deployed, and fishermen advised not to venture into the sea.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has warned of heavy rainfall and wind speeds up to 140 km/h in coastal areas. Relief camps and medical teams are on high alert.
