MCD to Launch Dedicated Websites for All 1,512 Schools to Boost Transparency and Engagement

New Delhi | November 8, 2025

The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) has announced that it will roll out dedicated websites for each of its 1,512 schools, marking a major step toward digital transformation in the capital’s public education system. The initiative aims to enhance transparency, communication, and engagement among teachers, parents, and students.

Each school’s website will host essential information such as admission details, staff profiles, attendance records, academic calendars, exam results, and announcements, allowing parents to stay better informed about their child’s education. The portals will also feature sections for grievance redressal, feedback, and online communication between schools and families.

According to MCD officials, the websites will be developed in a standardized yet customizable format, ensuring that each school maintains its unique identity while adhering to the broader MCD digital framework. The move is part of the civic body’s larger push to improve digital governance and accountability across municipal schools.

“The objective is to make our schools more accessible, transparent, and participatory. Parents should be able to see what’s happening in their child’s school with just a few clicks,” said an MCD education department official.

The MCD has partnered with IT consultants and educational technology firms for implementation, with a pilot phase covering 100 schools expected to go live by early 2026. Training workshops will also be conducted for teachers and school administrators to manage and update content regularly.

Education experts have praised the move, noting that increased digital visibility can help boost enrollment, improve community trust, and streamline administration in MCD schools.
