Chief Minister Pema Khandu announced a landmark full scholarship programme for students from Arunachal Pradesh who secure admission to Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) or top-ranked global universities, according to a report by The Times of India.
The initiative, part of the state’s broader education and skill development strategy, aims to support talented students pursuing higher studies in science, technology, management, and other fields at premier institutions worldwide.
Under the scheme, tuition fees, travel costs, and living expenses will be covered in full for eligible students. The Chief Minister said the government wants to ensure that “no deserving student is denied access to world-class education due to financial constraints.”
Officials added that the scholarship framework will include merit-based selection and a commitment from recipients to contribute to the state’s development upon completion of their studies.
