**Phnom Penh/Bangkok โ ** Cambodia and Thailand have signed a comprehensive cease-fire and peace accord aimed at resolving decades-long border tensions. The agreement, brokered with U.S. mediation, was witnessed by President Donald Trump during a trilateral summit in Phnom Penh on Sunday.
The deal calls for withdrawal of heavy weapons, deployment of ASEAN monitors, and large-scale demining of disputed areas near the Preah Vihear Temple region.
โThis is a new chapter of peace and progress for Southeast Asia,โ said Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet. Thai Premier Srettha Thavisin added that the agreement โensures our children inherit borders of cooperation, not conflict.โ
