NTA Issues Final Reminder for UGC-NET December 2025 Registration Deadline

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has issued a final advisory for candidates appearing in the UGC-NET December 2025 examination, reminding them to complete their registration process by 11:50 PM tonight (November 7, 2025).

The notification emphasises that no further extension will be provided, urging aspirants to ensure that all application details are accurately entered and verified before paying the examination fee.

Key Details of the Advisory

According to the NTA statement, candidates must complete Step 1 (Registration), Step 2 (Application Form Submission), and Step 3 (Fee Payment) before the deadline. The application correction window will open shortly after the registration closure, allowing limited edits to specific fields.

The UGC-NET (University Grants Commission โ€“ National Eligibility Test) determines eligibility for Assistant Professorship and Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) in Indian universities and colleges.

โ€œCandidates should avoid last-minute submissions to prevent technical delays or payment failures. Once the deadline lapses, no applications will be accepted under any circumstances,โ€ the NTA advisory stated.

Exam Schedule and Key Dates

  • Online Registration Deadline: November 7, 2025 (11:50 PM)
  • Correction Window: Expected between November 9โ€“11, 2025
  • Admit Cards Release: Tentatively in the first week of December
  • Exam Dates: December 18โ€“22, 2025
  • Mode: Computer-Based Test (CBT) across multiple sessions

The test will cover 83 subjects, and the detailed schedule โ€” including subject-wise exam slots โ€” will be announced in due course on the official NTA website: ugcnet.nta.ac.in.

NTAโ€™s Digital Improvements

The agency has upgraded its application portal this year to support smoother fee transactions and automatic confirmation alerts via email and SMS. Applicants have also been reminded to keep a copy of the confirmation page for future reference.

Officials highlighted that the NTA has implemented enhanced verification protocols to curb duplicate or erroneous entries, and introduced a real-time dashboard for monitoring registration trends.

Advisory for Candidates

  • Use updated browser versions to avoid payment gateway errors.
  • Double-check personal, academic, and subject codes before submission.
  • Save and print the confirmation page after successful payment.

Candidates facing technical issues can contact the NTA Helpdesk at ugcnet@nta.ac.in or through the helpline numbers listed on the portal during working hours.
