UAE Schools to Introduce Diagnostic Assessments and New Evaluation Methods in 2025-26

Dubai | November 6, 2025

Schools across the United Arab Emirates are set to implement diagnostic assessments and revamped evaluation methods starting from the 2025-26 academic year, as part of a nationwide shift towards more personalised and competency-based learning.

According to education authorities, the move aims to identify studentsโ€™ learning gaps early and tailor teaching strategies to individual needs. The diagnostic tools will be introduced across key stages in both public and private schools, focusing on core subjects such as mathematics, science, and languages.

The reforms are aligned with the UAEโ€™s National Education Strategy 2050, which prioritises evidence-based instruction, continuous feedback, and holistic student development. Schools will receive training and digital resources to standardise implementation across emirates.
