Cambodia and Thailand Sign Historic Peace Accord with U.S. Mediation

**Phnom Penh/Bangkok โ€” ** Cambodia and Thailand have signed a comprehensive cease-fire and peace accord aimed at resolving decades-long border tensions. The agreement, brokered with U.S. mediation, was witnessed by President Donald Trump during a trilateral summit in Phnom Penh on Sunday.

The deal calls for withdrawal of heavy weapons, deployment of ASEAN monitors, and large-scale demining of disputed areas near the Preah Vihear Temple region.

โ€œThis is a new chapter of peace and progress for Southeast Asia,โ€ said Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet. Thai Premier Srettha Thavisin added that the agreement โ€œensures our children inherit borders of cooperation, not conflict.โ€
