In a major escalation, doctors across Maharashtra have declared a statewide protest and OPD boycott starting November 3, following the tragic death of a woman doctor at a sub-district hospital in Phaltan.
The Maharashtra Association of Resident Doctors (MARD), Indian Medical Association (IMA), and other medical unions have joined forces to demand better safety, working conditions, and justice for healthcare professionals. The associations have warned that essential medical services could be affected if their concerns are ignored.
The protest is likely to put significant pressure on the state government, with health services expected to be disrupted across public hospitals.
