New Delhi — Prime Minister Narendra Modi has urged the nation to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the patriotic song Vande Mataram next year, calling it “a timeless mantra that unites 140 crore Indians.”
The Prime Minister’s Office announced that the government will organise cultural programs, exhibitions, and school competitions nationwide to mark the occasion.
The song, penned by Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay in 1875, played a vital role during India’s freedom movement.
