The School Education Department of Rajasthan has officially launched the “Vidyalaya Ke Bhamasha Yojana 2025,” a new initiative aimed at improving infrastructure and learning facilities in government schools across the state through voluntary contributions from individuals, alumni, and private entities.
According to The Times of India, the scheme draws inspiration from Rajasthan’s long-standing tradition of philanthropy, encouraging citizens to directly contribute funds, equipment, or developmental support to local schools. Each participating donor—termed a “Bhamasha”—will be recognized publicly for their contribution, fostering community ownership in education.
Officials from the Education Department stated that the scheme’s primary objective is to upgrade classrooms, libraries, digital labs, and sanitation facilities, while also supporting initiatives such as teacher training and student welfare. A transparent online portal will track donations, project progress, and impact metrics.
Education experts have welcomed the move, calling it a practical example of participatory governance in education, aligning with the National Education Policy’s emphasis on community engagement and local partnerships.
The initiative is expected to mobilize corporate social responsibility (CSR) funding and alumni networks to bridge gaps in infrastructure quality between rural and urban schools.
