Northern Ireland’s Tom McKibbin is leading the Link Hong Kong Open after the second round, having shot a five-under-par 65 to add to his sensational first-round, bogey-free 10-under 60, which set a new course record at the Hong Kong Golf Club. His total stands at 15-under, giving him a two-shot lead.
Indian golfer Anirban Lahiri is well-placed in tied-15th position, six shots off the lead at nine-under-par, after a second-round 66. Lahiri, who plays for Crushers GC on the LIV Golf League, expressed frustration with his putting but was happy with his ball-striking.
The course record 60 by the 22-year-old McKibbin, a member of Jon Rahm’s Legion XIII team, is an official record as last year’s 59 by Patrick Reed was shot under ‘lift, clean and place’ rules.
